As the song goes: “Summer’s here and the livin’ is easy”.
Well, kind of! Did we think we’d experience a second COVID summer? No. But it does make the lyrics of the song ring true. Pandemic life is definitely a little easier in the summer.

Congratulations to Orléans resident, Christine Dudley, the winner of our photo contest. Her beautiful image graces the cover of this issue of The Beat. There were so many amazing photos to choose from that it was tough for the marketing team to decide. Christine’s photo truly captures the beauty of our district.
There are many other great articles in this issue. Many thanks to architect Toon Dreeson for his fresh look at St-Joseph Boulevard and we’re also excited to share the latest on the new Community Improvement Plan (CIP) as it promises many opportunities for growth. We love the idea of encouraging a vibrant, healthy, pedestrian and cycle friendly destination with a variety of different businesses to choose from.
