Ottawa School of Theatre is physically closed – but operational! While theatre is meant to be physical and present, they, like many others, have adapted. OST-ETO classes, students and teachers have continued meeting to keep theatre alive. they all been having a great time sharing talents and theatre skills, even if not in person.
Ottawa School of Theatre encourages the students to explore and gain experience through diverse projects and collaborations. To keep the momentum going the school has put up Zoom classes.
Over the past 30 years ,Karen Freeborn, founder and dedicated theatre professional, had a vision to establish a great theatre school. The school began with 1 class and 16 student to over 120 students in regular classes and summer camps.
Ottawa School of Theatre is one of the resident arts partners in the Shenkman Arts Centre, the students are exposed to the different visual art vehicles that surrounds them from the Pottery School to the Ottawa School of Arts.
