Who does not know OCCO Kitchen right here in Orléans? Husband and wife team, Mark Steele and Caroline Côté, started with a small takeout business on St-Joseph Boulevard and then, as the business grew, moved to 4240 Innes Road.
Chef Mark Steele started his culinary journey in the East coast and his career includes being an executive chef at various hotels and a teaching position at Algonquin College for the School of Hospitality and Tourism. He has also led a team of chefs representing Ottawa’s regional cuisine at the coveted James Beard Foundation in Manhattan, executed state dinners for British Royalty and the President of France, and competed on “Chopped Canada. In 2017 he was nominated for Forty under 40 and more recently OCCO has been on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with The Food Network’s Guy Fieri. While Chef Mark is busy creating in the kitchen, Caroline is the face and brains of the business coming up with creative ways to get them through COVID like their popular market. Despite OCCO’s success, you can always count on Mark and Caroline to remain true to their roots and support other local businesses as they source local ingredients for their artisanal menu.
