Heart of Orléans BIA

What’s your favourite? Death by chocolate or lemon-raspberry?

Believe it or not, Laura Pruvost, co-owner of Lolai’s Yummies, does not have a sweet tooth. She simply loves to bake and finds it therapeutic.

And, a growing number of people across Orléans and the Ottawa region – who definitely have a “sweet tooth” – are happy she does.

Her creations are not only tasty, they are works of art. You may not want to even eat them when you first see them. But when you catch a whiff of their yummy goodness, you’ll change your mind and be ready to dig in to your treat.

Her most popular offerings are her Death by Chocolate and Lemon-Raspberry Cupcakes.

Equally popular are the croissants and pain chocolat created by her husband and co-owner, Cyril Pruvost. He is originally from France and he makes these delightful delicacies with his authentic French recipe.

Laura welcomes special orders too. With a young daughter with nut allergies, she is proud to provide super-tasty nut-free treats as well as any number of other alternatives: vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free. Check in with her about what her offerings are.

Laura and Cyril have lived in Orléans since 2011 and have chosen to raise their family here. “We love the family-friendly atmosphere here, the amazing number of parks and amount of green space, and how safe Orléans is,” states Laura.

Launched just four years ago, their business has grown every year. You can find her every Saturday in the summer at Cumberland Market. She also attends specialty markets in the areas, such as in Navan. Or, simply reach out to her via Facebook messenger or her website.

And, thinking ahead, you may also see her opening a café along St-Joseph Boulevard, which would be a welcome addition to the other dining establishments there.
