We Have an Iron Chef!

On May 31, Shop St Joseph held its very first St Joseph Iron Chef competition – and what a great way to start what we hope will be an annual event!

As part of the Shenkman’s 5th Anniversary celebrations, Shop St Joseph showcased local culinary talent on our Foodie Stage. We wanted to showcase what amazing, young talent we have along the Boulevard, and the teams did not disappoint.

Two teams completed for the Iron Chef title: Sarah Fleury (Captain) and Emily Poison (Apprentice) from Cuisine & Passion; and Ryan Feltmate (Captain) and Chris Hariski (Apprentice) from St Martha’s Brasserie. Each team prepared an appetizer and a main dish for 3 celebrity judges. They were required to use 3 ingredients: quinoa, asparagus, and cornish hen.

The competition was VERY close, and the judges praised the efforts of both teams. But one team came out the winner…..TEAM ST MARTHA’S (on the left of the photo). A big congratulations to both teams, and we hope they will be back for compete for the title next year!
