Member Spotlight: Eye Care For You

For over 35 years, Eye Care For You has been a trusted name in vision care in the Heart of Orléans BIA. Originally established by Dr. Kwasnick, the clinic became a staple in the community, offering a comfortable and welcoming environment. In 2018, Dr. Jenna Bender took over the practice, expanding and modernizing the space while maintaining the same high-quality care patients have come to expect.

Eye Care For You is a full-service vision care provider. Their doctors are known for their thorough and personalized approach to eye exams, ensuring every patient receives the best care possible. As a dispensing practice, they also fit and sell glasses and contact lenses, accept new patients and emergencies, and offer direct billing for select insurance companies.

With services available in both English and French and extended hours on Thursdays and Saturdays, they make eye care accessible and convenient.

Dr. Bender’s journey with Eye Care For You is deeply personal—growing up in Orléans, she was a regular patient of Dr. Kwasnick before pursuing optometry at l’Université de Montréal. After returning home, she worked as an associate before becoming the clinic’s owner, allowing her to serve the same community that shaped her. Her patient-first approach is rooted in her background in coaching and volunteering, where she learned the value of helping others.

More than just a clinic, Eye Care For You is committed to community involvement. Their space features a vibrant mural by artist Mique Michelle, a free library to encourage reading over screen time, and a welcoming environment for student co-op placements. They take pride in offering hands-on learning experiences for future healthcare professionals, reinforcing their role as a community-focused practice.

Dr. Bender attributes her success to her strong support network, including her dedicated staff, friends, and family. As a busy entrepreneur and mother, she navigated the challenges of business ownership, pregnancy, and a pandemic—all with the support of those around her. Outside of the clinic, she’s an avid athlete who has competed internationally, playing for Team Canada’s Gaelic football team at the 2023 World Games in Ireland.
