LRT Update: What’s Happening with Stage 2 in Orléans?

Exciting changes are coming to public transit in the Heart of Orléans BIA! The Stage 2 Light Rail Transit (LRT) expansion is well underway, bringing improved connectivity and convenience to our community. Once complete, residents and visitors will have easier access to downtown Ottawa and beyond, making Orléans an even more attractive place to live, work, and shop.

Progress Update

 

The O-Train East extension will add 12.5 km of rail and five new stations stretching from Blair to Trim Road. Here’s what’s happening:

  • Track installation is making significant progress, with key sections already laid.
  • Stations are taking shape, including Jeanne d’Arc, Convent Glen, Place d’Orléans, Trim, and Montréal Road.
  • Electrical and finishing work is ongoing to prepare for system testing.

What This Means for Orléans

 

The LRT will make commuting faster, more reliable, and environmentally friendly. It will also help boost local businesses by improving access for customers and employees. With reduced congestion and more transit options, Orléans is poised for growth and greater economic opportunities.

 

Projected Completion Date
