If you’re an art lover, you won’t want to miss this visual arts event. On Saturday,
September 9 and Sunday, September 10, Arteast will be having its first Fine Arts
Studio Tour. On 9 and 10 September, 21 members of the organization will be
participating in the Studio Tour and they invite you to drop by their home studios
to see where and how they work, and why they create their art.
Some of you may already be familiar with Arteast but, if you aren’t, this will be a
great opportunity to get to know the organization. It’s been around for over 30
years helping its members to promote their artistic talents in Arteast exhibitions
in City of Ottawa facilities. Membership in the organization is open to amateur,
emerging and professional artists working in any medium – painting, drawing,
printmaking, photography, sculpture and much more. You’ll get a sampling of
works of what Arteast members produce by visiting the participating studios
during this event.
Arteast will be posting a downloadable list of the Fine Arts Studio Tour artists, as
well as the addresses of their studios on Arteast’s website at
www.arteastottawa.com on the Arteast Ottawa Fine Arts Studio Tour page under
the Activities tab. Most are in Orleans, Gloucester and Cumberland as well as one
in downtown Ottawa and one in south Ottawa. The organization is also planning
to include an interactive map. The studios will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
on September 9 and 10!
